There was an announcement this week, that a new anime was in the works. This anime is based on a novel published by Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko. Yes, the title of this novel is long, so let’s shorten it here as… “Banished”. Banished was originally started on syosetu.com, which is also where “Re: Zero”, “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” and many others came from.
|What’s Banished About?
Banished is a story that follows Red, a fighter banished from the Hero’s group. He continues his slow life in the country, selling herbs with a tomboy princess that joined him. In a world fantasy world, taking a break from all of the action and just chilling, going to spas and relaxing, that’s the stuff.

syosetu.com is a website where people can submit their own stories. Some of those stories have become very popular and have been adapted to anime on TV. There is an interesting culture associated with this particular website, known as narou-type stories. It is a type of story which usually has the main character teleport to a fantasy world, and demonstrates a stupendous amount of power/skill. Oh, don’t forget the harem, of course. Thought the creator of the website did say, ‘I don’t want this site to be just narou-type novels’.
