Flower and ASURA Anime: Release Date, Cast, and Staff for 2025

The manga ‘Flower and ASURA’ (original story by Ayano Takeda and manga by Musshu) is set to be adapted into an anime in 2025. A teaser visual, main staff, and cast have also been announced. Additionally, comments from the cast and a congratulatory illustration by Musshu, the manga artist, have been released.

‘Flower and ASURA’ (original story by Ayano Takeda and manga by Musshu) is a popular manga serialized in ‘Ultra Jump’ (published by Shueisha). The story, written by Ayano Takeda of ‘Sound! Euphonium’, portrays the emotional growth of high school students, illustrated delicately by the new artist Musshu. The story revolves around Hana Haruyama, a resident of the small island of Tonarijima with a population of 600, who joins the broadcasting club in high school and deepens her love for recitation with her friends.

To mark the anime adaptation, a teaser visual has been released. The illustration depicts Hana and Mizuki running along a coastal road with cherry blossoms fluttering in the background, evoking the beginning of youth.

The cast has also been announced. Minoru Fujidera will play the role of Hana Haruyama, and Miyuri Shimabukuro will play the role of Mizuki Susuki. Comments expressing their enthusiasm have also been received. Fujidera said, “Currently, I am a high school student like Hana-chan, and I found many relatable moments while reading the original story. I will do my best along with Hana-chan, who grows through her activities in the broadcasting club, so please support us.” Shimabukuro commented, “I am looking forward to playing Mizuki, who brightens her surroundings like the sun. Thank you for your support.”

Furthermore, the main staff for the TV anime ‘Flower and ASURA’ has been announced. The director will be Ayumu Uwano, the series composition will be handled by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, character design by Hikaru Aine, and the animation production will be by Studio Bind, known for ‘Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation’. To celebrate the anime adaptation, congratulatory comments and illustrations from Ayano Takeda and Musshu have been released on the official website and official X (formerly Twitter), which launched on June 12, 2024. Future updates on the anime will be announced on the official X.
