Announcement

BANDAI SPIRITS announced that the new production facility at the “Bandai Hobby Center” (Naganuma, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture) is scheduled for completion in January 2025. Following the introduction of production equipment, operations are expected to commence around summer 2025.

The new facility, constructed on approximately 14,724 square meters adjacent to the main “Bandai Hobby Center” building, aims to establish a more stable production system. Additionally, a tour course will be introduced within the facility, offering visitors educational insights into craftsmanship through plastic model production.

BANDAI SPIRITS has previously strengthened its plastic model production capabilities by expanding the new wing of the “Bandai Hobby Center” (operational since December 2020) and through collaboration with group companies and partner organizations. By fully integrating these resources with the new facility’s production capacity, the company expects to increase production by approximately 35% compared to FY2023 levels upon the facility’s full-scale operation in FY2026.

The “Bandai Hobby Center” remains committed to advancing its production capabilities and enhancing quality in the plastic model manufacturing process.

  • Total Floor Area: Approximately 18,087㎡ (three-story structure)

About the “Bandai Hobby Center”
The “Bandai Hobby Center” was established in 2006 in Naganuma, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, as the primary production facility for plastic models by BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. The center handles the planning, development, and production of a diverse range of plastic model products, including the Gunpla series. It utilizes a proprietary “4-Color Injection Molding Machine” (a type of multi-color molding machine) capable of simultaneously molding four colors and four different materials in a single mold. This technology enhances ease of assembly and color accuracy post-assembly. Additionally, the center actively pursues initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including the “Gunpla Recycling Project” and measures to reduce electricity consumption.
