“Spy x Family” Movie Triggered by Chocolate!? First Ever Family Trip Could Decide the Fate of the World! Story & Latest Visuals Revealed

Anime

Spy x Family: The Movie, the first-ever film adaptation of Spy x Family, will be released on December 22, 2023. The previously veiled story has now been revealed – the fate of the world lies in the hands of the family’s first vacation together. New visuals have also arrived.

Spy x Family is a spy/action/eccentric family comedy manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo for Shueisha’s manga app Shonen Jump+. Serialization started in March 2019. The original manga has exceeded 600 million views and the latest volume 11 has brought total circulation to over 30 million copies. The 2022 TV anime adaptation swept every trend, and the first stage musical was also a huge success, constantly garnering massive popularity.

Along with the announcement in March 2023 that Season 2 of the TV anime will air in October, the release date for the completely original theatrical film was revealed, causing huge buzz. But aside from the super teaser visual showcased at the same time and the tagline “The world’s most epic family vacation begins—” everything else remained a mystery.

The story of Spy x Family: The Movie starts with the shocking development of master spy Twilight, aka father Lloyd Forger, being reassigned from his usual mission (Operation Strix) while on duty as usual. Around the same time, Anya’s Eden Academy is holding a cooking exercise with “Stella Stars” at stake. To earn stars at all costs and negotiate continuing his mission, thereby protecting world peace, Lloyd suggests Anya make mererumerere, a traditional dessert from the Frigis region beloved by the Eden Academy principal who is head judge of the cooking exercise. To sample the authentic taste, the Forgers embark on a family vacation together.

However, after Anya finds a suspicious trunk on the train during their trip and accidentally swallows the chocolate inside, the Forgers experience a series of mishaps. It is also discovered that the chocolate holds a grave secret that could shake world peace. The Forgers now hold the fate of the world in their hands. Just what is the secret hidden in the chocolate Anya swallowed? And can this makeshift family the Forgers protect the world?

Teaser visual for “SPY x FAMILY CODE: White the Movie

Unlike the tense image of the super teaser visual, the new teaser visual depicts the Forgers popping out of a suitcase together with scattered keyword-like props. Esper daughter Anya reaches for a mysterious glowing treasure chest, while precognitive dog Bond shows a dynamic figure seemingly about to leap out. Master spy father Lloyd holds a guidebook and binoculars, while elite assassin mother Yor wields a pizza peel and frother as if they were weapons – a colorful, pop, and action-packed finish.

As the tagline says, “Save the world on an exciting family trip–“, expectations are high for a spectacular large-scale work engulfing the world.

Spy x Family: The Movie, the first film adaptation of Spy x Family, will be released on December 22, 2023. The first footage in the form of a special trailer is scheduled to premiere on the TOHO Animation YouTube channel at 0:00am on June 26.
