■ASAKURA YO CV Hikasa Yoko
A boy who can see spirits who has come to Tokyo by himself to participate in the “Shaman Fight” held once every 500 years. Acknowledged by both himself and others as having an easygoing personality, he is fond of saying, “I can handle it. He believes that there are no bad people who can see spirits, and deepens his friendships with his rivals. His spirit is Amidamaru, the spirit of a samurai from 600 years ago.

–Could you tell us about the appeal of this work?
I think it is only Takei’s skill that she can depict things that are usually feared, such as spirits, tombs, and Osorezan, in such a pop way.
Maybe ghosts aren’t scary at all, and I’d rather meet Amidamaru and his friends if they exist! I think one of the charms of this series is that the characters are so attractive that it makes you think, “Maybe I’m not afraid of ghosts.
I love how the story ends with a gag at the end of every episode, and the expressions on everyone’s faces.
The music is also one of the charms of the show, and I remember the songs “Over Soul”, “Northern lights”, and “brave heart” sung by Mr. Hayashibara shocking me even as a child.
–To be honest, I’m under a lot of pressure to play the role of Asakuraha.
To be honest, I’m feeling a lot of pressure!
But I’m just me, so… But I’m only me, so… I want to play the role that only I can play, loving Ip, Anna, and my friends in my own way.
The veteran members of the cast are people I’ve seen since before I became a voice actress.
To be surrounded by such people and to be able to talk with them in a play is a blessed opportunity that does not come along often in an actor’s life.
I hope that I can be like the leaves that grow little by little and are recognized by the people around me.
I’ll do my best, while trying not to work too hard! I would appreciate it if you could watch over me warmly.
■Amidamaru: CV Katsuyuki Konishi
The spirit of a samurai who was once feared and called “Onin”. He is an expert swordsman, and has developed his own unique Amida-ryu swordsmanship, which has a power far beyond that of ordinary people. He is touched by Ip’s warm personality and becomes his spirit. He is righteous and has a passionate friendship with Ip. His favorite sword is “Harusame”.

–Can you tell us about the appeal of this work?
I’m a boy, so I like the battles. I’m a boy, so I love the battles, especially the strong enemies that keep popping up.
I was especially excited to see what kind of mochi spirits would appear. A mochirei is a spirit, so anything is possible (laughs).
Also, there are no bad guys. Each of them is living with their own thoughts and feelings.
And I love the way you live your life, don’t you? It’s a good phrase.
–What would you like to say to your fans as you play Amidamaru again?
As the lyrics of the song “Over Soul” say, “I’ve come back to life. This is thanks to all of you who have loved and supported “SHAMAN KING” over the years.
I would like to run through the world with Ip Man and Amidamaru. I am looking forward to meeting Amidamaru again.
I’m with you all. I’m insanely excited! Thank you so much! Thank you so much for your support of SHAMAN KING!
■Anna Kyoyama: CV Megumi Hayashibara
As Ip’s bride, she is a weasel who performs séances and spirit removal, and can call spirits to her at will through Kuchiyose. She is a beautiful girl who gives off a cool and mysterious impression, but she has a strict personality that no one can resist. On the other hand, she also has a kind and sensitive side that she doesn’t usually show.

–Please tell us about the appeal of this work.
A good balance is a good balance.
True strength, pride, and delusion.
True kindness, weakness, and escape.
This is a work that will make you shake with the heart that cannot be seen at a glance.
–What would you like to say to your fans as you play Anna again?
Thank you for waiting for me.
I feel like I’ve been summoned back.
I thought I’d take it easy for a while.
I thought I was going to take it easy, but the world is not so easy. Let me tell you something first.
I’ll tell you what, we’re going to get real, and we don’t want to get real.
Don’t complain about it here and there where I can’t see you. From the landlady
■Hao: CV Minami Takayama
A boy with a face similar to Ip’s and a gentle demeanor. He has many shamans as his subordinates, and is respected as “Master Hao”. He seems to be interested in Ip, and tries to make contact with him. His relationship with Ip, his true identity, purpose, and abilities are shrouded in mystery.
<Minami Takayama Comment>
–Please tell us about the appeal of this work.
Of course the story and characters are attractive, but I think the appeal of this work is that it is full of themes that you can relate to from your own perspective. Friendship and love, family and siblings, courage, bonds, strength, etc…. I like the fact that the essence that never changes in any era can be seen even in the midst of battle. The background that makes me feel nostalgic is also appealing.
–Please give a few words to your fans as you play Hao again.
Thank you very much for all the support for “SHAMAN KING” over the years. I’ve been going to the original art exhibitions and decorating the goods to reminisce about those days, but I never thought I’d be able to play Hao again. I want to turn this good fortune into strength and challenge the battle. I’m looking forward to waking up Hao, who is still sleeping. When the time comes… please take care of me!
Directed by Takeshi Furuta (The Seven Deadly Sins: Resurrection of the Commandments, Uta no Prince-sama the Movie: Maji Love Kingdom, etc.), with series composition by Shoji Yonemura (The Wave: Listen to Me, Pocket Monsters, etc.) and character design by Satohiko Sano (FAIRY TAIL, Hebot! and others), music by Yuuki Hayashi etc.), music by Yuuki Hayashi (“My Hero Academia,” “Haikyu! etc.), sound director Masafumi Mima (“Shingeki no Kyojin,” “Soukyu no Fafner,” etc.), and animation production by Bridge (“FAIRY TAIL,” “Yu-Gi-Oh! Shaman King” is a work by Hiroyuki Takei that was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” from 1998 to 2004.
It is a story about a boy with the ability of a shaman (psychic) who participates in a match called “Shaman Fight” and aims to become the “Shaman King”, the king of them all.
The main character, Asakura Yoh, gained strength and friends as he confronted his greatest enemy, Hao, which was also popular due to its somewhat lyrical nature.
It was adapted into an anime from July 2001 to September 2002 on the TV Tokyo network, and the theme song was sung by Megumi Hayashibara.
It has also been made into a game and a drama CD with the cast of the anime version.
After that, a complete edition with a transparent cover was released, featuring new color illustrations of the characters, a complete collection of extra manga, and about 380 pages of new illustrations that neatly supplemented the content of the original story, which was cut off before the final battle with Hao.
From November 2011 to March 2012, “JUMP Kai” revived Shaman King and published a series of readings, “Shaman King 0-ZERO-“, which depicted the past of the main characters, and from April 2012, “Shaman King FLOWERS”, featuring Hana, the son of Leaf, started in April 2012.
<STORY>
On his way home from cram school, Manta Oyamada is running late, so he takes a shortcut through a graveyard.
There, he finds a strange boy looking up at the stars.
He says, “Let’s all look at the stars together.
When Manta asks him what he means by “everyone,” he finds that the boy is surrounded by many ghosts.
Manta is so terrified that he runs home.
The next day at school, he tells his friends about the incident, but they don’t believe him at all.
His homeroom teacher introduces him to a “new student”, a strange boy named Asakuraha, whom he met at the graveyard.
Manta wanted to get affirmation for the scene he saw last night, but when Ip answered “no” to his classmates’ question, “Are there any ghosts?”, he was denied the sight he saw as well.
Manta, now convinced that he is lying, follows Ip and waits for him to reveal himself, but he can’t stand the sight of Ip staring blankly at the river for three hours, so he tweaks him and gets caught.
