It has been announced that the TV anime “Doona!,” based on the Korean webtoon, will premiere in July 2024 on the anime block “B8station” presented by Fuji TV and bilibili. The Japanese dubbed version will feature Maaya Sakamoto, Keisuke Komoto, Rumi Okubo, and Manami Numakura.

The original “Doona!” webtoon, produced in Korea, is a youth love story available in Japan on “LINE Manga.” The story begins when Haru Sugiura, who has moved out to live alone after getting into university, meets Mio Kisaragi, a former idol living downstairs in his boarding house.
The series has also gained attention with the Korean drama adaptation “Lee Doo-Na!” streaming on Netflix. The anime version, streamed on the Chinese platform bilibili, has amassed around 60 million views. This will be the first time the anime is broadcast in Japan.
In the Japanese dubbed version, Maaya Sakamoto will voice Mio Kisaragi, the mysterious former idol, while Keisuke Komoto will play Haru Sugiura, the university student caught up in Mio’s world. Rumi Okubo will voice Maju Momoi, the senior Haru admires, and Manami Numakura will play Sara Mikuni, a free-spirited and proactive woman Haru meets at a group date.
On March 11, at the “Fuji TV Anime Lineup Presentation 2024,” Keisuke Komoto, Rumi Okubo, and Manami Numakura took the stage to talk about their enthusiasm and highlights of the series. Additionally, a teaser visual featuring the heroine Mio walking through a rain-soaked town and the Japanese logo were unveiled.
