NEET Kunoichi Anime Reveals First Key Visual and New Cast

The first key visual for the anime ‘NEET Kunoichi to Nazeka Dōsei Hajimemashita’ has been unveiled. It was also announced that the anime is scheduled to air in January 2025, and additional cast members Fairouz Ai, Saya Aizawa, and Hina Kino will be joining the cast.

‘NEET Kunoichi to Nazeka Dōsei Hajimemashita’ is a romantic comedy manga by Shoryu & Mat Yagito. This popular work, created by authors with over 1.4 million followers on X (formerly Twitter), ranked second in the 2020 Nico Nico Manga Annual Ranking in the User Manga Division out of 22,000 works, and has accumulated over 30 million engagements on X, making it a hot topic on social media. The story depicts the cohabitation life of an ordinary office worker, Tsukasa Atsumi, and a genius but lazy NEET ninja, Shizuri Ideura, who is also a game otaku.

In the first key visual, the characters are shown floating in the air, true to the “kunoichi” (female ninja) theme. The characters are: Ayame Momochi (upper right), voiced by Fairouz Ai; Hina Izumi (upper left), voiced by Saya Aizawa; and Kanna Natsumi (upper center), voiced by Hina Kino. The voice actors have also shared their enthusiasm for their roles.

Fairouz Ai commented, “The story unfolds with the speed and excitement of a ninja, featuring a comedy highlighted by high-energy and uniquely colorful characters.” Saya Aizawa shared, “Although playing a kunoichi, my memories of the recording sessions are mostly of flirting with my on-screen lover, Tooru-kun. Most of these scenes were improvised while staying true to the original work, so I hope you pay attention to them.” Hina Kino added, “Expressing Kanna’s charming tsundere personality was very challenging, but I gave it my all.”

Fairouz Ai as Ayame Momochi: “This series features a fast-paced storyline with the excitement of a ninja and a comedy colored by high-energy and uniquely colorful characters. Saya Aizawa as Hina Izumi: “Hina is unfortunately very weak and has a misfortune that affects everything around her, causing the characters around her to suffer daily sacrifices. Even though she is a kunoichi, my memories of the recording sessions are mostly filled with flirting with my on-screen lover, Tooru-kun. These scenes were almost entirely improvised while staying true to the original work, so I hope you pay attention to them. Both the work and the characters are outrageous, so don’t take your eyes off for a second!”

Hina Kino as Kanna Natsumi: “Kanna is a girl with many facets; she can be haughty, embarrassed, or responsible. Expressing Kanna’s charming tsundere personality was very challenging, but I gave it my all.
