This weekend, I decided to take a stroll through Akihabara.
After wandering around places like Akihabara, including Akiyodo and various streets, I checked out the NEEDLY GIRL OVERDOSE exhibition. Next, let me introduce you to an amazing oyakodon (parent-and-child bowl) spot that’s even been featured in the Michelin Guide.
Arriving in the early afternoon, the clear skies on this day made Akihabara’s billboard beauties even more adorable.
While walking through the streets of Akihabara, I discovered a NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE pop-up exhibition and decided to check it out (these run periodically in Akihabara — check current listings before visiting, as the specific exhibition described here is no longer running).

They’ve meticulously designed the interior, designed, creating an incredibly cute space.
Later, heading towards Suehirocho, I went to a renowned chicken dish restaurant called “Toritsune” which has been featured in the Michelin Guide for 8 consecutive years for its oyakodon.
This time, I ordered their most famous oyakodon and chicken sashimi.

I could eat the chicken raw, and it was incredible, almost like sea urchin in texture.
And the chicken liver sashimi? Even better than uni (sea urchin)!
Now, for the main dish of the day, the oyakodon! It was my first time experiencing such a rich, velvety, and juicy oyakodon with fresh chicken. The sauce, a crucial element of the oyakodon’s flavor, was well-seasoned with a delightful dashi (broth), making it exceptionally tasty.
It’s no wonder this oyakodon is featured in the Michelin Guide – irresistibly delicious.
Totally satisfied with the meal, I guess it’s time to head home for today.
The location of the place I visited this time is here.
