The “EVANGELION CROSSING EXPO – Grand Evangelion Exhibition – Tokyo Return,” an exhibition unraveling the collaboration history of the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” series, has announced the addition of four new giant exhibits.
The exhibition will be held from September 13 to October 22 at the Roppongi Museum in Tokyo. This exhibition began in July 2022 at Shibuya Hikarie in Tokyo and toured seven locations across Japan, including Osaka, Fukuoka, Akita, Niigata, Aichi, and Aomori, before its return to Tokyo.
The new giant exhibits include a life-sized figure of “Rei Ayanami (Tentative Name)” recreated from an illustration drawn for the “Evangelion Exhibition” held at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo in August 2013, a 3.5-meter tall, 100kg “Giant Spear of Longinus,” a “Giant Evangelion Unit-01” that has been displayed at events around the country, and a “Progressive Knife” recreating the scene where it pierces the core of an Angel.
Furthermore, with the upcoming event in Roppongi, a collaboration between the Roppongi logo and the “EVANGELION CROSSING EXPO – Grand Evangelion Exhibition – Tokyo Return” has been confirmed. As part of this collaboration, pre-sale tickets with an acrylic keychain featuring an illustration of Evangelion Mark.6 combined with the Roppongi logo will be sold on eplus starting at 12:00 PM on July 20. Additional merchandise information will be announced later.
“Neon Genesis Evangelion” has explored various forms of collaboration, ranging from “things” like figures, apparel, daily goods, and traditional crafts, to “events” like pachinko and motorsports, as well as other events. The exhibition will showcase approximately 4,000 collaboration items.
